Next week monday I will leave on a journey to Italy. Me and my class will be going by plane. My reason for going there is that I am fortunate enough to take part in some archaeological fieldwork focused on Crustumerium. This is a settlement where we will be digging at the Necropole. Mostly chambergraves and graves cut out of tufa are the subject of our research. The project has been going on for many years already, but it's my first time. It will be hard work and lots of getting up early (5 AM daily), but we do get siestas and some free time in the weekends. I'd like to see Rome again...Crustumerium is closeby so it's definately an option.

Before the fieldwork we will have an excursion for the duration of one week. Our class has been split into teams, each focusing on a different period of time. My group is centered around the Latian Prehistory. That means lots of caves! We will be visiting some too, I heard there is one in which you can swim. That should be awesome.

These fishtanks are all decorated in the Amano style. Amano is a japanese guy that tries to create underwater landscapes using plants, rocks and wood. The fish are only a small add-on in these types of tanks. They are absolutely beautiful though. It is very hard making tanks like these! I could only dream of such things.
